Hi, I'm Taimus Werner-Gibbings. I am for Tuggeranong.

I have been your local and vocal Labor Member for Brindabella in the ACT Legislative Assembly since you elected me in October 2024.

Having grown up in Canberra and finished school at Lake Tuggeranong College (where my dad was a teacher), these days I’m a Tuggeranong husband, father, neighbour (with a mortgage), and community organiser in Tuggeranong. I have a vision of a positive and renewed Tuggeranong community, a community chosen by families that want to enjoy every chance in a wonderful place.

Every day I fight for the very best outcomes – for liveability, infrastructure and equality of opportunity – so that Tuggeranong attracts the interest and investment it needs and deserves. I am your voice in the ACT Government, working hard to renew Tuggeranong’s community, listening to your ideas, suggestions and concerns, standing for ACT Labor’s progressive values, and fighting for the things that matter to you.

I am particularly interested in ensuring our kids get the best possible public education. Three generations of my family have benefitted from attending their local ACT public school. That’s why I promote Tuggeranong’s public schools and work to help them offer quality education opportunities for our children.

I have been a patient at the Canberra Hospital since 1999, when I was diagnosed with Type-1 Diabetes. My partner Libby works at the Hospital, so I hear what's working and what needs to happen next. I understand that access to good public healthcare is critical for Tuggeranong, which is why I’m focused on delivering even better healthcare for our community.

After work and on the weekends, I coach, play with or barrack for many Tuggeranong sports clubs and cultural groups (even when it's freezing). I am supporting their efforts to increase their participation rates and improve their facilities, because I know they are making us and our community stronger, healthier and friendlier.

I am more invested in Tuggeranong’s success than ever. That’s why I am your Labor representative for Brindabella.
