The Brindabella electorate is the largest geographical electorate in the ACT, and takes in all of the Tuggeranong district as well as the rural areas and national parks beyond Canberra's edge in the southern ACT.

The name Brindabella is derived from an Aboriginal word meaning 'two kangaroo rats'. For generations of Canberrans, Brindabella is the name of the mountain range which dominates the southern horizon of Canberra.
